I believe that the quote given to us by Miss Ramirez means that education should give knowledge in many subjects like math, English, etc. And should also create habits that allow people to think and make educated decisions that will give a positive outcome.
One example of this in my life would be when I was in Social Justice last year. There was a lot that I didn't know(such as what the Black Panthers were) and when I was taught these things I was able to really start thinking about my actions and change them. Such as any form of discrimination hate or prejudice acts.

I have just recently been in Mr. Orozco's class and I agree that I didn't know about a lot of things that were discussed. It has helped me gain my own opinion on certain issues and the discussions have showed me that everyone has a different perspective and even if you do not agree you have to respect their ideas.
